I've set myself a January challenge

Happy New Year! I hope you had a relaxing break filled with laughter, hugs and good food.

We've just returned back to Melbourne after a hectic (but wonderful) week with my family at their farm. It's always lovely to catch up with my parents, cousins, aunts and uncles - but there's nothing better than getting home, unpacking all of our things (we never travel light any more) and putting the girls into their own beds.

Over the break, I looked through my own family photos from the past year. There were plenty of the girls until August, when I started my photography business - but since I started taking photos of other people's children, mine have been neglected.

To remedy this, I've decided to set myself a challenge of taking one photo of them each day during the month of January. I got the idea from Kristen Cooke, an amazing photographer, whose work I am in awe of. You can see some of her incredible images here

Here's my first - taken this morning, as they were rifling through my box of sparkly, shiny earrings.

If you're feeling inspired, why not join me? All you need is a smartphone and a couple of spare minutes each day.
